Memorial Day Simple Home Decorations

Memorial Day is a holiday near & dear to my heart. And while most associate the day with the "kick-off of summer"- let's take a moment to stop, pause & remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. "Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it. It flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it." –Unknown

This is a time for us to remember those who gave their lives for this wonderful country we love & live in & for all of the freedoms we have.

I always find so much beauty in the American flag & I love displaying it throughout our home, especially on Memorial Day. It is very simple to add a flag to your existing décor to bring a little patriotism to your home.

I used tree clippings from our backyard to fill this basket- again, a very simple & cost effective way to decorate your table. You can leave the flags up until after 4th of July or simply set them back out for the holiday. The flags are from my shop, Nickels Creek Mercantile.
