Choosing a Word for the Year: Why I Chose "Flourishing" for 2025
As the calendar turns to a new year, many of us take time to reflect, set intentions, and embrace fresh beginnings. One of my favorite ways to approach a new year is by choosing a word to guide my mindset and actions. It's a simple yet powerful practice that helps anchor my goals and aspirations.
In 2024, my word was "Grace," and it became a cornerstone of my personal growth. For 2025, I've chosen "Flourishing"- a word that perfectly captures the season of life I'm stepping into.

Reflecting on 2024: The Power of Grace
Grace was the word I needed for 2024, a year filled with growth, challengers, and opportunities. To me, game meant giving myself permission to rest, make mistakes, and learn as I navigated new endeavors like becoming the 2025 Cottages & Bungalows Brand Ambassador and continuing to write my home decor book.
Grace reminded me to approach life with compassion, both for myself and others. It allowed me to let go of perfectionism and embraces progress over perfection. This mindset gave me the freedom to shop up authentically as my self in my work, relationships, and creativity.
By the end of the year, I realized how much grace had helped me not only grow but also create a foundation for the future.

Flourishing in 2025: A Season of New Beginnings
As I look ahead to 2025, the word "Flourishing" feels like the natural next step. It represents growth, abundance, and stepping fully into the opportunities I've worked so hard to cultivate.
This year is a season of new chapters:
- Continuing my work as the Cottages & Bungalows 2025 Brand Ambassador and writing articles for the magazine and being creative with my Instagram takeovers, "A Cottage Life with Krystle."
- Relocating to the beach and moving into our family's dream home.
- Finishing my home decor book and making plans to publish, which has been a lifelong dream.
Flourishing is about more than just achieving goals- it's about thriving in every sense. It's about embracing joy, nurturing creativity, and finding beauty in the everyday moments. It's about taking the grace I practiced in 2024 and using it as fuel to bloom in 2025.
