Create a Magical Hot Cocoa Bar for the Holidays
Share
There's nothing cozier during the holidays than a warm cup of homemade hot cocoa, and my mama's recipe makes it extra special. This year, I've created a festive hot cocoa bar using her rich and creamy hot cocoa, Santa mugs, and all the toppings! It's perfect for family gatherings, holiday movie marathons, or a quiet moment by the fire. You can find my festive hot cocoa bar finds here.
Mama's Hot Cocoa Recipe:
- 2 cups instant dry milk
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa podwer
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- OPTIONAL: Add semi sweet chocolate chips for an extra touch of chocolatey flavor
Add all ingredients into a bowl and whisk it all together and then transfer into a glass canister with lid. Use a scoop to scoop your homemade cocoa mix into your mug of hot water. Use as much as you'd like until you achieve your perfect hot cocoa flavor.
How to Style Your Hot Cocoa Bar:
- Santa mugs: These bring instant holiday cheer! Set them out for everyone to grab.
- Marshmallows: Fill a festive jar with mini marshmallows or homemade ones for an extra treat.
- Peppermint spoons: add a touch of minty goodness by including peppermint spoons or candy canes.
- Toppings galore: Whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and sprinkles are always a hit.
- Cozy touches: Include a small sign with "Hot Cocoa Bar" written on it, fairy lights and a holiday themed tray to tie it all together.
Invite family and friends to customize their cocoa creations. Whether they pile on the marshmallows or stir with a peppermint spoon, the memories made will be as sweet as the cocoa itself.
